"The salmon is very fresh, especially the belly part which is perfect for sashimi. All the dishes we ordered tasted great. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. Food is served quickly and the prices are good value for money. Parking is also easy to find. Highly recommended!"

"My sister recommended this amazing place, so I decided to celebrate our anniversary there with my husband. He's usually more into Korean food and not a fan of Japanese cuisine but now he's hooked! New flavours unlocked! We absolutely loved the food every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The interior design was cozy and elegant, and the customer service was excellent. The only downside was the noisy atmosphere. It felt more like a business lounge at times, with people loudly discussing work and success stories. It was a bit much when all we wanted was a quiet dinner together. Still, despite the slightly higher price point, the experience and food made it worth every cent. Highly recommended for a delicious food journey!"

"Due to the location, this is somewhere I'd pop in for lunch if I am feeling like Japanese food. The team here is very friendly and service level is very good indeed. Food wise in terms of taste is pretty good (cooked dishes) but for their sashimi/sushi, the slices are a bit on the thin side vs another Japanese I frequent. But still, its a good place for dining and the atmosphere is pleasant."

"If I could rate more than five stars for the service I would. I had lunch with my mom here and enjoyed a delicious meal. The salmon was fresh and served with generous cuts. The ambience was relaxing with Japanese style decorations and windows overlooking the outside views. I truly commend the service, especially of one staff member, whose name I didn’t get to know. She was the most courteous and amiable throughout our whole dining experience when catering to our needs. We also ordered the osmanthus jelly to be served after our meal. However, as we were in a rush and don’t usually order desserts when we eat out, we paid and left before the dessert was served. We totally forgot about it When we remembered about the jelly, we went back to the restaurant to see if we could still claim it. At the cashier, we were attended to by the same lady and she immediately knew what we came for. She quickly went and prepared our jelly before profusely apologising to us. I couldn’t thank her enough and clarified that it was our fault too for forgetting about the order. To locals and visitors to Kuching , I highly recommend this restaurant for a good Japanese meal prepared using fresh ingredients and served by warm, professional and friendly staff."

Everything here is consistently top notch from the food to the service to the overall experience. The staff are always attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. You’re made to feel welcome the moment you walk in, and that level of hospitality never wavers, even when taking your reservation via telephone. The food, without exception, is outstanding. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here. Every dish is fresh, delicious, beautifully presented, and a pleasure for both the eyes and the palate. What really sets this place apart is the owner’s presence. He is often seen personally overseeing operations, ensuring standards are maintained and that everything runs as it should. That hands-on care clearly shows in the consistency and quality of the experience. A special shout-out to Dan, who took our order last night. Despite the restaurant being busy, he remembered exactly what my daughter usually eats which is miso soup with only tofu (no seaweed) and her favourite agedashi tofu. That level of attentiveness and personal care is truly impressive, especially given how many patrons he serves. He is always friendly, thoughtful, and attentive, and moments like these are what make this place feel so special. I highly recommend Izakaya Icom square as a place I will continue to visit very often."
